PLEO: SUPPORTING PARENTS OF SUICIDAL YOUTH

Project Summary

Parent’s Lifeline of Eastern Ontario (PLEO) is a non-profit peer support organization for parents whose children are facing serious mental health challenges including issues of suicide. We were commissioned to produce a series of educational videos for the organization, filmed in Ottawa in early 2020. We interviewed youth with lived experience of mental health issues, their parents, mental health clinicians, and suicide prevention experts on what they found to be most helpful and hopeful when it comes to supporting suicidal youth. This project resulted in six videos on six separate topics related to suicide prevention, and can be watched below:
